The 7th annual ESHOWE SUPERSPAR NGOJE TRAIL RUN will take place on Saturday 1 August 2020 at the beautiful setting on the banks of the Brocklee Dam, located just outside of Eshowe. This event has four distances to choose from: a challenging 36 kilometre route, an intermediate 24 kilometre route and the social 10 and 5 kilometre races.
The Ngoje Trail Run is a race of epic proportions. The longer routes are made up of river hopping, overhead indigenous forest, interspersed with a minimum of gravel road, with a portion traversing the pristine Ezemvelo Nature Reserve. The routes will take you along farm roads, ravine and rivers, single track, and over mountains offering spectacular views, so bring your camera! The 36 km track has proved very popular as it allows trail runners to enjoy the more scenic sections of the Ngoje valley whilst challenging even the toughest of athletes. From 2020, a decision has been taken to impose cut-off times for the 36 km route, so walkers are encouraged to rather enter the 24 km event. There will be water tables, but hydration packs are encouraged for the longer routes. The route will be marked and navigable without a GPS.
The ESHOWE SUPERSPAR NGOJE TRAIL RUN is hosted by the Holy Childhood School, located in Eshowe, and is a major fundraising event for the school.
