The marathon starts and ends at the Sani Pass Hotel. This is definitely a race for the hardened and the brave but if the daunting climb does not take your breath away then the sheer beauty and splendour of the Drakensburg certainly will. The Sani Stagger has been ranked as a well organised and well-presented event and has often been voted as one of the country’s top ten marathons. For runners, this is one of Africa’s most unique athletic experiences. The total number of runners for both races is limited to 550 so make sure you get in ahead of time with your entry.
