New Africa Skills Development

New Africa Skills Development is a BEE compliant, FIETA accredited (full accreditation) training service provider. We specialize in herbicide, chainsaw and brushcutter training and have various courses available.

Our mission is to provide consistent, high-quality training to all levels of herbicide applicators, and machine operators in Southern Africa. By so doing, we are striving to continually improve the quality and safety of all related operations. We play a key role in contractor/small business development by equipping candidates with the knowledge and legal requirements to run vegetation management operations on a sustainable basis.

Our 5-day Environmental Vegetation Management course is fully approved by the Registrar Act 36, 1947 and all successful candidates (70% pass mark) qualify to apply for a Pest Control License (Category: Weed Control). This course is conducted at any venue of the client’s choice.

We also conduct a 3-day Herbicide Applicator Course for Knapsack Operators. This is a practically orientated course, training candidates in all aspects of safe and efficient herbicide applications. Our training is conducted at any venue of the client’s choice and we are represented in all provinces around South Africa by a well-established network of training consultants. All our trainers are leaders in their field and are all vastly experienced in the field of herbicide application.

New Africa Skills Development prides itself in being the first training service provider to provide a Registrar (Act 36, 1947) approved the short course, which would qualify candidates to apply for a Pest Control License (category: Weed Control).

We have a mobile clinic available to conduct on-site medical examinations, audiometric tests and lung function tests. This clinic managed by a qualified nursing sister.

We have extensive training experience in the Working for Water Programme and have provided training for companies that include Mondi Forests, SAPPI, Safcol, Eskom, Municipalities, etc., over the last seven years. We specialize in the following markets: forestry, conservation areas, game farming, industrial areas, road-verge maintenance and rangeland sectors.
